Week of Ukrainian films to be held in Ashgabat

On the 24th to 31st of August, the «Ashgabat» cinema in the capital will host the Week of Ukrainian Films Shot in Recent Years. Viewers will be offered four films of various genres to watch, which will introduce the culture and traditions of the Ukrainian people.

The film screening will open with a full-length documentary film about wedding customs and ceremonies from different parts of Ukraine «Весільний спадок» («Wedding Legacy»), which will be shown on the 24th of August at 17:00.

On the 26th of August at 5:00 p.m., the fantastic family film «Фокстер і Макс» («Foxter and Max») with an unusual and exciting plot will be shown.

On the 29th of August, at 5:00 p.m., you can watch the family comedy «Пригоди S Миколая» («The Adventures of Saint Nicholas»), which tells about the adventures of second-grader Artyom and his teenage sister in a Carpathian village on the eve of Saint Nicholas Day.

The week will end on the 31st of August at 5:00 p.m. with the screening of the film «Пекельна Хоругва, або Різдво Козацьке» («Infernal Banner, or Cossack Christmas»). This is a fairy tale for children and teenagers, telling about famous Cossack warriors and their families.

Films are shown with English subtitles. Admission to all sessions is free.
