A delegation of ten museum specialists of Turkmenistan, headed by the director of the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan Meretgeldy Charyev, will take part in the 6th International Cultural EXPO «Silk Road», which will be held from 6th to 7th of September this year in Dunhuang, Gansu Province, China.
The invitation of the delegation to this major international event as guests of honor was announced in early August at a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova and the head of the propaganda department of the Committee of the Communist Party of China in Gansu Province Zhang Yongxian.
Exhibits from two museums will be presented at the «Silk Road» EXPO - the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre and the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan. These are the largest repositories of national cultural values, many of which are known throughout the world. In particular, exhibitions of rarities kept in the funds of the State Museum were previously deployed in the New York Metropolitan Museum and in German cities.
The preservation, scientific study and wide promotion of the richest cultural heritage of Turkmenistan in the world is one of the priorities of the state policy, which is confirmed by the recently approved «Concept for the development of international exhibition activities of Turkmenistan for 2024-2025».
At a press conference of the organizers of the «Silk Road» EXPO at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the PRC, it was noted that the State Museum of Turkmenistan will play a leading role in organizing and holding exhibition events dedicated to the demonstration of cultural, artistic and cultural tourism goods of the country, the main guest of honour.
More than 1,200 Chinese and foreign guests are expected to attend the opening ceremony of the «Silk Road» Expo, and the program will include forums, presentation events and artistic performances. It also announced the holding of fairs on economic cooperation, forums and conferences in the field of radio and television.
