President of Turkmenistan conducts a video conference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a video conference with the cabinet ministers, the Chairperson of the Mejlis, the heads of ministries and departments and the khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat, who reported on the existing situation in the sectors under their supervision, and the progress in implementing the Turkmen leader’s instructions. The video conference agenda focused on the progress in implementing the large-scale programmes of social and economic development of Turkmenistan.

During the video conference the velayat khyakims reported on such issues as the seasonal agricultural campaigns, the measures taken to improve further the social and living conditions of citizens and develop industrial infrastructure and the progress in implementing the construction projects. Vice Premier A. Yazmyradov reported on the progress of agricultural activities.

Commenting on the reports, the President put emphasis on the progress of the seasonal agricultural campaigns and demanded that every effort should be applied to complete the winter wheat harvesting campaign in a proper and timely manner.

Addressing the Dashoguz Velayat Khyakim E. Orazgeldiev, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that Vice Premiers A. Gochyev and A. Yegeleyev had made a working trip to Dashoguz Velayat. A number of shortcomings in implementing the National reformatory programme aimed at providing new standards of life and work for people living in rural areas were revealed during the trip made on instructions of the Turkmen leader. The President of Turkmenistan stated that the Programme had been implemented in the velayat very slowly noting that of 143 objects of the social and cultural purposes to be built in the region in 2008-2011, construction of only 64 projects had been completed that made up 45% of the building volume. In spite of the expiration of the planned dates, the construction works were still carried out at 61 objects (43%), and the works had not started yet at 17 objects (12%). 33 percent of newly-constructed apartment houses were put into operation, the volume of incompleted construction projects makes up 53 %, and 14% - apartment houses, construction of which has not yet started. Demanding that the shortcomings be eliminated as soon as possible, the President of Turkmenistan defined a number of priority tasks to be taken by the administration of the northern region of the country jointly with relevant ministries and sectoral departments.

Then the floor was given to Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev, who reported on the progress in implementing construction and urban development projects in the capital and on the measures taken to beautify the city and promote social and industrial development of Ashgabat.

The President of Turkmenistan gave specific instructions on implementation of the large-scale construction and urban development programme in the Turkmen capital, and paid particular attention to the issues regarding improvement of the Turkmen capital, proper maintenance of municipal facilities and park zones, cleanness and order in the city.

Minister of Railroad Transport B. Annameredov reported on the existing situation in the sectors under his supervision. He also reported on the measures taken in order to increase the paces and quality of works on passenger traffic and freight transportations.

Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdieva reported on the work of the National Parliament, and the outcomes of the working trip to Ahal Velayat. According to the Chairperson of the Mejlis, the meetings with constituency in regions took place within the framework of the trip. The meetings focused on the urgent issues of life of the people and their daily wants.

Then the floor was given to Vice Premier B. Nurmyradova, who reported on the existing situation in the spheres under her supervision. The Vice Premier also reported on the preparation of the programme of cultural events dedicated to the national holidays to be celebrated in May.

State Minister, Chairman of the Turkmenhaly State Joint Stock Corporation O. Ishangulyeva reported on the work of the industry, and preparatios for the Turkmen Carpet Day widely celebrated in Turkmenistan on the last Sunday of May.

The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan reported on the preparations for the children’s summer holidays. This year, over 25,000 of children will spend their holidays in children’s health and recreation centers in the Geokdere settlement nearby Ashgabat and the Avaza National tourism zone on the Caspian coast.

Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan G. Mammedova reported on the programme of events on occasion of granting the status of the cultural capital of the CIS for 2012 to Mary. According to the Minister, the official ceremony of granting the status was held in the administrative center of Mary Velayat on April 30.

Minister of Textile Industry A. Babaeva reported on the existing situation in the sectors under her supervision, and the work of the modern textile complexes built in the country. It was noted that, in general, the positive dynamics, significant growth of production and export of products have been observed in the industry,

Commenting on the reports, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave a number of specific instructions to the relevant officials.

At the conclusion of the video conference the President of Turkmenistan wished good health and successful work for the benefit of the Motherland and people to those present.
