The delegation of Turkmenistan took part in the grand opening of the VI Silk Road International Cultural EXPO in the city of Dunhuang, Gansu province of China.
Two museums have been announced on behalf of our country on a foreign site: the State Museum of the State Cultural Center and the Museum of Fine Arts. The unique exhibits, displayed in the pavilion of Turkmenistan, demonstrate the rich cultural heritage of the Turkmen people.
The stands feature paintings, Turkmen carpets, items of women's and men's clothing, jewelry, household utensils and textiles. Numerous photographs of new infrastructure, architectural monuments and cultural heritage sites introduce visitors to the modern era of Turkmenistan's development.
The Great Silk Road, one of the most famous and oldest trade routes, passed through various territories, including China, Central Asia, India, Persia and European countries. In addition to the exchange of goods, there was a continuous cultural, scientific and information exchange.
Created as a network of communication and commodity exchange, the Great Silk Road significantly influenced the history of Eurasia: the culture and religion of peoples, languages, science, preserving a colossal intellectual and artistic heritage.
As Sun Chunlan, Vice Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, noted at the opening of the Silk Road EXPO, the current exhibition in Dunhuang is an important platform for the development of exchanges and cooperation in the field of culture.
The Second Dialogue of Friendly Organizations of Ancient Civilizations was devoted to the issues of further improvement of interaction between peoples. The event was organized by the Chinese People's Friendship Society with Foreign Countries and the People's Government of Gansu Province.
Forums, conferences, presentations and other events will be held in continuation of the International Cultural EXPO.
