President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Head of the General Electric Energy for Central and Eastern Europe, Russia and CIS Cristiano Tortelli.
Greeting the guest, the Turkmen leader expressed the satisfaction with the results of joint work with the General Electric Energy US Company, an old partner of Turkmenistan in the power industry. As is known, the powerful gas-turbine units produced by this world largest company have been installed at the new power stations put into operation in our country. The Turkmen leader noted that, today, there were good prospects for continuation of mutually beneficial cooperation meeting the interest of the two countries.
In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan and the American businessman discussed the possibilities of fostering the mutually beneficial partnership given the plans for further modernization of the power infrastructure of Turkmenistan based on the wide use of the advanced technologies and high-efficient equipment that, in particular, had been stipulated by the increasing demands of the dynamically developing national economy in electric energy and increasing the volumes of its export.
Underlining that General Electric Energy takes a pride in the long-term cooperation with Turkmenistan that has proved itself as a reliable business partner on the international arena, Mr. Cristiano Tortelli reaffirmed the readiness of the company to take an active part in implementation of the large-scale reformatory programmes taken place in the country. The American businessman assured that possessing the wide experience in this sphere, the General Electric Energy would apply every effort to foster cooperation with Turkmenistan.
