A group of young cinematographers of the Oguz Khan Turkmenfilm Association took part in the first Toji Somon International Film Festival, which was held in mid-October in Dushanbe.

The purpose of the film festival was to support creative youth, exchange experience, improve the skills of young cinematographers, present domestic and foreign films to film lovers, develop joint projects, strengthen and expand international ties in the film industry.

Films from Europe, Asia and the CIS countries presented for participation in the festival took part in two competitions – feature and short films. The film "Gyzyl kürte" directed by Sakhysalykh Bayramov took part in the competitive program of feature films.

The prizes of the film festival were provided for the best direction, camerawork and acting. Master classes, photo exhibitions and seminars on the theme of cinema were also held during the festival days.

The organizers of the Toji Somon Film Festival intend to hold it regularly, and the next one is scheduled for 2025.
