President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan to consider the results of the social and economic development of the country within four of the current year as well as a number of the key state policy issues.
Before opening the meeting, the Turkmen leader congratulated those present and citizens of Turkmenistan on the forthcoming holiday – the 67th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Then Vice Premiers reported on the existing situation in the sectors under their supervision. It was reported that within the first four months of the current year, the GDP growth made up 110.5 percent that testifies to the stable progressive development of the national economy. This indicator has been reached due to the high results achieved in a number of sectors, including industry, construction, transport and communications, trade, agriculture and the sphere of services.
Within the first four months of 2012 the growth of the retail trade turnover made up 114.1 percent as compared to the previous year, the volumes of the foreign trade turnover significantly increased as compared to the same period of 2011 and made up 148.7 percent, and the indicator on providing the paid services made up 114 percent.
Summing up the reporting period, the State budget revenues significantly exceeded the expenditures, in particular the revenues made up 115 percent, the expenditures – 94 percent. The volume of budgetary funds used has increased as many as 39.6 percent.
Vice Premiers and heads of a number of departments reported on the existing situation in the key sectors of the national economy, the spheres of transport, communications, culture, social policy, as well as foreign-policy sphere. The Velayat Khyakims reported on the existing situation in the regions of the country.
Summing up the reports, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov relieved M. Kuraev of the post of Chairman of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern for serious shortcomings and the failure to perform his duties properly. The President of Turkmenistan appointed M. Balakaev Chairman of the Turkmenhimiya State Concern. The Turkmen leader instructed the relevant officials to revise the Regulations on the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan and make amendments to this document regarding entrusting the organistation with the task to monitor over the objects of the oil and gas industry.
The President of Turkmenistan paid particular attention to developing the Avaza National tourism zone underlining that within the near future, health-improving and entertaining centers designed for 4,000 places would be opened there. The Turkmen leader instructed the relevant officials to speed up processing of documents required for construction of these facilities. Then, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave a number of instructions authorizing the ministries and sectoral departments to conclude the contracts for construction of new cultural and entertaining facilities in the Avaza National tourism zone.
The other important state policy issues were considered, and a number of the relevant documents and decisions were adopted during the government meeting. Among them are, in particular, the Resolution “On purchase of vertical steel tanks and appropriate to them equipment”, on construction of a high-speed passenger vessel on the territory of the International sea port and its purchase.
In conclusion of the meeting the Turkmen leader wished good health and new accomplishments in their activity for the benefit and happy life of the Turkmen people to the meeting participants.
