The famous guitarist, conductor and director of the Macon Symphony Orchestra (France) David Yurpo visited the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva as part of his visit to Ashgabat.

In the format of an open lesson, students of the pop department studying guitar performed Turkmen folk musical compositions, as well as works from world classics, for the guest.

After listening to the performances of young talents, David Yurpo conducted a master class on guitar performance art. An experienced guitarist told aspiring musicians how to avoid stage anxiety.

The main secret of successful performance is the musician’s concentration on the beauty of sound. Then the melody flows by itself.

Continuing the lesson, David Yurpo distributed musical scores to the active students. Having studied their parts, the musicians, under the direction of the guest, practiced their skills of playing in an ensemble.

- When I was six years old, I first heard Bach’s Lute Suite. And this music, performed on the guitar, inspired me to become a guitarist, -shared David Yurpo.

At the end of the meeting, the musician performed the same piece and invited representatives of the conservatory to a concert, where he would conduct the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan as a conductor.

The concert, organized by the French Institute in Ashgabat and the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, will take place on the 4th of November at 19:00 at the Mukams Palace.
