President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated war veterans and the people of Turkmenistan on the 67th anniversary of the Great Victory.
In his congratulatory address to war veterans and people of Turkmenistan the Turkmen said: “I cordially congratulate war veterans, Turkmen people, those, who worked hard in the home front in the name of the Great Victory! I wish you strong health, long and happy life under the peaceful sky!”
"The fiery years of the Great Patriotic War become a thing of the past. But it is impossible to forget the tragic events that left wound in hearts”, said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in his address. “The people of Turkmenistan made a worthy contribution to winning the great victory. Thousands of our brave sons fell on the field of battle defending their native land and people during the grim years of war. Over a hundred citizens of Turkmenistan received the high title of Hero for their courage demonstrated during the war.
Our compatriots selflessly worked on the home front demonstrating a high example of patriotism. Over fifty enterprises were built, and more than seventy items of military products were produced in Turkmenistan during the war.Thousands of young citizens our country worked day and night at factories at that time. Old people, women, and children catching up the popular slogan "Everything for the front, everything for the victory!" harvested wheat to the last grain, and cotton to the last boll and delivered the harvested crops to the receiving points of the country. Mothers, the keepers of sacred family homes, young women and girls sent 7,392 kilograms of gold and silver jewelry and about 2.5 million items of warm clothes to the Defense Fund".
"The Great Victory is of particular importance from a historical point of view, as well as for the patriotic education of younger generation on the examples of heroism, courage and humanism. The unprecedented bravery and courage displayed by participants of the war, heroism of those, who worked on the home front, and their life itself are of considerable importance in bringing up the younger generations in the spirit of selfless love to the beloved Motherland and people”, - said the leader of the Turkmen state. “Therefore, our country widely and solemnly celebrates the Victory Day that occupies a special place in the hearts of the people going ahead along the path of peace and harmony”.
“Following the noble and invariable tradition of our people, the ceremonies of laying the wreaths and bouquets of flowers to the monuments to all heroic defenders of the Motherland will be held in the Turkmen capital, and all cities and settlements of the country, we will kneel down to the courage of the sons of our Fatherland in honor of the Victory Day. Our country honours the unprecedented bravery displayed by participants of the war, the courage of our compatriots and their feat of labor on the home front during the years of war, and respects the work of veterans involved in patriotic education of youth”.
“The glory of the heroes who died fighting for peace on our planet, defending the freedom of their homeland, honor and dignity of each person is immortal. Our ancestors demonstrating the high example of courage and valor were true patriots, who laid the foundations of our present happy and peaceful life. We will always honor their memory”, said the leader of the Turkmen state.
