The Asian Youth Games, also known as AYG, is the second largest multi-sports event after the Asian Games, held every four years. They are held under the auspices of the Olympic Council of Asia.
The first Asian Youth Games took place in 2009 in Singapore, the second in 2013 in Nanjing (China). The next Games were originally scheduled to take place in Jakarta in 2017, but were cancelled. Later, it was decided to hold the third Asian Youth Games in 2021 in Shantou (China), but due to the coronavirus pandemic, they also did not take place. And now there is every reason that in 2025 the best young athletes in Asia will gather for the next continental Games in the capital of Uzbekistan.
