The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan started in the capital of the Republic of Austria. This cultural event that continues the active relations of the two friendly states in the cultural and humanitarian sphere proves the invariable interest of the peoples of these countries in the spiritual life of each other, and their aspiration for establishing close and versatile contacts and relations.
An artistic group including the workers of culture of our country, popular composers and singers, musicians, cinematographers and journalists was delegated to represent Turkmenistan in Austria. The orchestra of the Palace of Mukams of the National Cultural Center of Turkmenistan will represent the musical art of our country, and the Lachin folklore groups will familiarize the people of Austria with the unique traditions and folk art of the Turkmen people.
The diverse programme of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Austria is aimed at widening the knowledge of the people of the friendly country about the ancient history of Turkmenistan, its versatile culture, original customs, musical traditions and folk art.
The solemn ceremony of opening the cultural event have taken place at the Ethnological Museum (Volkerkundemuseum), the oldest and largest anthropological museum in Austria occupying a part of the former imperial residence Hofburg in Vienna.
Within the framework of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan, the exposition of museum exhibits and articles of the modern decorative and applied art will be opened at the Odeon Theater in Vienna. The festival of Turkmen films will be also held there. The Odeon Theater will host the big concert of masters of culture and art of Turkmenistan on May 12 that will be the final chord of the cultural event.
Within the framework of the rich cultural programme prepared for the Turkmen delegates, the envoys of culture and art of Turkmenistan will visit the sights of Vienna, and get acquainted with the unique exhibits of museums and wonderful palaces.
The representatives of the culture and art of our country visited the Vienna Rathaus – the heart of Vienna and its symbol. The various styles and directions of the European art have harmoniously combined in the architectural style and magnificent interior of the Rathaus that represents a high artistic value. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wrote an entry to the Golden Book of Guests of Honour kept in the Rathaus that contains the autographs of prominent figures of the world.
The participants of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Vienna will have new meetings and gain new impressions.
