President of Turkmenistan received Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to take part in the International conference on refugees in the Muslim world. The guest expressed sincere gratitude to the Turkmen leader for the initiative to hold this big forum in Ashgabat, which attracts the keen interest of the world community that vividly testifies to the increasing authority of Turkmenistan on the international arena.

Greeting the Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined, in his turn, that neutral Turkmenistan was ready for continuation of the fruitful partnership, and was planning to provide assistance to fostering the international dialogue, the main goals and tasks of which satisfied the interests of the regional and global world, wellbeing and progress.

During the meeting, the Turkmen leader and his guest discussed the key aspects of cooperation within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation in the context of new opportunities and prospects for strengthening and widening mutually-beneficial economic, humanitarian, and cultural cooperation.
