As was reported President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov left on a working visit for the Russian Federation to take part in the informal summit of the CIS Council of the heads of state. Upon completion of the summit, the President of Turkmenistan left to Kazan (the Republic of Tatarstan).
In the morning the head of Tatarstan arrived in the residence of the President of Turkmenistan, from where the leaders of the two sates headed to the Kremlin Palace in Kazan, where they held one-on-one.
During the meeting held in the friendly atmosphere, and, at the same time, in a business way, the two leaders discussed the prospects and possibilities of the bilateral partnership defining among the priority vectors for cooperation the trading, economic, industrial spheres, a fuel and energy sector and agriculture. Particular attention was paid to enhancing traditional humanitarian relations, first of all, in the sphere of education and science. The leaders of the two states called for fostering fruitful relations between the workers of culture and art of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan.
Then, the talks continued in an expanded format with participation of the members of government delegations of the two countries.
The ceremony of signing the Programme on cooperation in the trading and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan (the Russian Federation) took place within the framework of the top level talks. Under the applause of those present at the ceremony President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov signed this important bilateral document.
In conclusion of the signing ceremony, the leaders of the two countries made a brief address to the media commenting the outcomes of the top level talks.
The head of the Republic of Tatarstan expressed belief in further successive development of the Turkmen-Tatar relations. Expressing satisfaction with the outcomes of the top level talks, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined that Turkmenistan considered the talks as an important contribution to enhancing the basis of the Turkmen-Tatar long-term partnership.

State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev met the leaders of the two countries at the main entrance to the Representative building.
After the traditional photographing, Mintimer Shaimiev invited the heads of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan to enter the building, where the presentation of the large-scale social project “The cultural heritage of Tatarstan: the ancient city of Bulgar and city-island Sviyazhsk” took place. Among the participants of the festive event were the officials of the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan, the members of the Governmental delegation of Turkmenistan, workers of the culture and art, as well as scientists. Within the framework of the presentation Mintimer Shaimiev told the Turkmen leader about the history of Bulgar and Sviyazhsk, as well as about archeological and restoration works carried out on the territory of these cities.
Then State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, invited President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to his room to take part in the meeting. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov attended the meeting.
The Turkmen leader and State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev expressed belief in the further successful development of the Turkmen-Tatar dialogue based on the mutual goodwill, friendship, mutual respect and efficiency.
Then the Presidents of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Tatarstan visited the IR-park State autonomous institution, an industrial park in the sphere of high technologies located in the center of Kazan.

During the reception, the heads of Turkmenistan and Tatarstan reaffirmed the invariable commitment to the ties of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation addressing the best wishes to the peoples of the two friendly countries.
From the Kazan Town Hall the President’s cortege headed to the Kazan International Airort.
Upon arrival to the air harbor, the Turkmen leader visited the exhibition of equipment manufactured in Tatarstan arranged on the flying field.
The ceremony of bidding farewell to the leader of Turkmen state took place at the airport. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that he was looking forward to the meeting with the President of Tatarstan on the Turkmen land. Thanking the Turkmen leader for the visit that laid a solid foundation for further fruitful cooperation, the President of Tatarstan wished Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a nice trip.
