Turkmenistan is carrying out large-scale work to study, preserve and popularize the national cultural heritage of the Turkmen people, which is an integral part of world culture.

The conference «Milli mirasyň galkynýan zamanasy» and an exhibition of works of applied art, held in Lebap velayat and dedicated to national nominations included in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, were aimed at achieving these goals.

The event, organized by the Women's Union, the National Centre of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO and the hakimlik of Lebap velayat at the State Musical Drama Theatre named after Seyitnazar Seydi, was attended by workers in the sphere of culture, art, education, healthcare and representatives of public associations.

In the speeches of the participants, it was noted that the inclusion of national nominations in the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity is important in the widespread popularization of the cultural heritage of the Turkmen people in the world.

During the conference, the combined folklore and dance group of Lebap velayat performed the dance «Kushtdepdi», and artists of the State Musical Drama Theatre named after Seyitnazar Seydi performed the number «Traditions of retelling Molla Ependi jokes».

Also, the participants got acquainted with the exhibits of the exhibition of works of applied art held here and visited the Historical and Local Lore Museum of Lebap Velayat.
