The State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan has launched an exhibition “Women – a World of Beauty”, dedicated to International Women’s Day. It exhibits samples of artistic value of national women’s clothing, jewelry, traditional handicrafts, as well as works of fine art. Each of the exhibits illustrates in its own way the rich world of beauty associated with women and spring.

Traditional women’s capes decorated with elaborate embroidery and various specimens of keteni silk homespun fabric, the bright colors of which resemble spring flowers open the exhibition. From the museum’s collections rich in ancient jewelry, the exhibition presents unique jewelry that emphasizes the beauty of Turkmen women, as well as jewelry also created today.

The works of famous Turkmen painters presented at the exhibition are dedicated to the ancient art of women’s needlework, passed down from generation to generation. Among them are paintings by Y. Gylyjov “Magic Patterns”, Sh. Akmuhammedov “Folk Art”, Sh. Rejepov “Ancient Art” and others. Bright female images were created in the paintings “Mother” by R. Muhammedov and “Bride” by G. Barannikov.

Along with works by famous artists revealing the rich world of beauty associated with spring and women, the exhibition features works by young talents. Paintings by the young artist G. Yazmuhammedova “Bride”, “Flowers”, “Our National Values” are presented at the exhibition for the first time.
