Letters as a love story

The team of the State Music and Drama Theater of Dashoguz velayat named after Nurmuhammet Andalib has started working on the melodrama "Saňa ýetermi owazym?" based on the eponymous work by the People’s Writer of Turkmenistan Dovletgeldi Annamyradov.

The director of the theater Guvanch Baymedov intends to create an interesting and diverse production with a rich storyline and various, including unusual stage techniques. Although only two actors are involved in the play, it is difficult to call it a "duo performance" because the director has conceived it with a lot of symbolism, intertwining the past with reality and even incorporating musical and choreographic numbers.

At first glance, the plot of the new work is simple - it is a story of love that has endured through the years. In the drama, it is revealed through letters written by the lovers to each other in different years. Therefore, the envelope projected onto the stage at the beginning and end of the play becomes a symbolic element of this love story. It is through the letters in old envelopes that the spiritual and emotional worlds of the characters, as well as their personalities, are vividly portrayed.

Two young people have feelings for each other and carry this love through time. However, their relationship is not without complications. Sometimes, they have different views on the importance of family and career in life, on their sense of responsibility towards each other and their love. Sometimes this leads to misunderstandings and even resentments.

Without giving away too much, it should be mentioned that the final act of the play differs from the literary plot. It will be a happy ending, thanks to the willingness of the characters to forgive their past mistakes for the sake of high feelings and their determination to fight for their love.

The roles in this lyrical drama, which is currently at the stage of role reading, will be performed by young artists of the theater Ogulgerek Shykhyeva and Begli Dovlyev.

It is worth noting that recently, during the celebration of International Women's Day on March 8, the theater premiered another production by Guvanch Baymedov based on the work of the renowned playwright Khemra Shirov, titled "Ýaşlyk ýelgini". This play also explores the themes of love and the significance of family in modern society.
