Javad Mottaghi, a renowned journalist and professor at the Faculty of International Relations and Cooperation of the of the Canadian Graduate Business School in Montreal (HEC Montreal), has arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the International Media Forum "Turkmen Land - Center of Ancient Cultures" held on the occasion of the declaration of the city of Anev as the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World in 2024.
As part of his visit, the foreign guest visited the Magtymguly Turkmen State University, where he interacted with students studying journalism. The meeting was held in the form of an open lecture, focusing on topical issues in the media and communications field.
With years of experience in television and radio, Javad Mottaghi held the position of Secretary-General of the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, maintaining close ties with television and radio companies in Europe, North America, Africa and several Arab countries. He gained popularity through the production of various TV and radio programs and reports.
During the lecture, the prominent representative of the media industry discussed the requirements for the development of modern media, emphasizing the importance of implementing digital technologies that meet the information needs of radio listeners, TV viewers and Internet users.
Topics such as the future of digital and traditional media were addressed, and examples of the global use of artificial intelligence in media content creation were provided. Additionally, professional and ethical norms in contemporary journalism were discussed.
The professor shared his professional experience and acquainted the students with the history and activities of the university where he currently teaches. The lecture concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which the audience had the opportunity to ask the expert their own questions.
