The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan are held in a large region of the Russian Federation – the Astrakhan oblast that cordially welcomes the delegation of our country.
A large group of workers of culture and art of Turkmenistan, including the representatives of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the Main National Museum of Turkmenistan, journalists, popular singers and musicians, artists of the Turkmen State Puppet Theater, as well as the “Durdyane” famous folklore group was delegated to represent our country at the large-scale creative forum organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan jointly with Astrakhan colleagues.
Among the members of the delegation are the students of the Turkmen National Conservatoire and a specialized school of art of Turkmenistan, for whom participation in the international forum together with venerable artists will become a wonderful school of mastership and professional growth.
Astrakhan is historically connected with Turkmenistan. The Astrakhan land has become a bridge that helped to establish and strengthen the historical relations of the two peoples since the ancient times. The Turkmens have lived there till the present time, and the local Turkmen diaspora is the largest one residing in the Russian Federation.
For the history of the Turkmen-Russian relations this land is of particular significance due to the fact that a classic of the Turkmen literature Magtymguly Fragi visited it. And it is especially symbolic that Astrakhan was the first regional center in the Russian Federation, where a monument to the great Turkmen poet was erected in May, 2009.
Within the framework of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Astrakhan oblast, the people and guests to the Caspian capital of the Russian Federation will enjoy many interesting events. The masters of art of Turkmenistan will perform a concert in the Astrakhan Young Spectator’s Theater.
The exposition of funds of the Main National Museum of Turkmenistan will represent the diversity of unique traditions of the Turkmen people, the decorative and applied art as well as achievements of the independent Turkmen state in the sphere of culture in the epoch of power and happiness.
The photo exposition entitled “The country of many faces” organized by the editorial staff of the Turkmenistan International Journal will tell about different sides of life of modern Turkmenistan and its citizens.
The young citizens of Astrakhan will have an opportunity to familiarize with the heroes of the play “Fun in the Karakum Desert” performed by the Turkmen State Puppet Theater.
A film festival that will be held at a central cinema of the seaside city will offer the citizens of Astrakhan to learn more about the history and modern development of the Turkmen cinematography.
