The international competition "International Relations: Culture of Peaceful Dialogue" started in Ashgabat

Today, the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan launched the international competition "International Relations: Culture of Peaceful Dialogue," organized by the university jointly with the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.

As previously reported, 250 students from 22 universities of Turkmenistan and 11 foreign universities from 9 countries are participating in the competition. Among them are representatives of Central Asian countries, Caspian Sea states, Turkey and China.

At the grand opening ceremony of the international event, speeches were delivered by: Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Candidate of Historical Sciences; Sapar Berdiniyazov, Senior Lecturer at the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the institute, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador, Honored Diplomat of Turkmenistan; and Igor Okunev, Associate Professor of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Political Sciences.

The speeches highlighted the high significance of the competition, aimed at promoting peace, strengthening trust, and developing peaceful and friendly dialogue between countries. It was emphasized that the international event will greatly contribute to the advancement of cultural diplomacy and the dissemination of the principles of peacefulness, which is the basis of the Resolution "International Year of Peace and Trust, 2025" initiated by Turkmenistan and unanimously adopted at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

On this day, a colorful exhibition was organized at the university for the event participants, showcasing national carpets, clothing, jewelry, paintings by Turkmen artists, and much more.

The festive atmosphere was enhanced by a joint concert featuring creative groups of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and the Maya Kuliyeva Turkmen National Conservatory.

After the official part of the event, the competition participants started taking tests and written assignments as part of the first, individual round of the competition.

Tomorrow, the students will participate in the team stage of the international competition, which will also include a thematic brain-ring with student teams.

The award ceremony for the winners of the international competition and the official closing ceremony will take place at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country on May 25.
