The Mollanepesov Student Theater hosted a viewing of the graduation performance "Dayahatyn", directed by Yazmyrat Allaberdyev, a student of the State Institute of Culture of Turkmenistan (Theater Faculty, Drama Director specialty, 4th year).
Playwright Shokhrat Masharipov wrote the play "Dayahatyn" based on a legend from the book by the leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, "Turkmenistan - the Heart of the Great Silk Road." A special distinction of this legend is that its main characters - Dayahatyn and Selimkhan - are unpredictable personalities. After obtaining proof of Dayahatyn's marital infidelity from the vizier, Selimkhan did not expel his wife from the city, but left himself, leaving orders that the rule of the state would completely pass into Dayahatyn's hands. The vizier did not expect such a turn of events.
But how can Dayahatyn now bring her husband back to the palace? Learning that Selimkhan had joined the merchants of the Great Silk Road, Dayahatyn began construction of a caravansarai. Sooner or later, she reasoned, her husband would end up there and understand that his wife had built such a cozy shelter for traders and travelers to prove her love.
Following tradition, all students of the institute attend the diploma performances, so during the viewing there were no empty seats in the hall. The audience watched the events unfolding on stage with great interest. The performance had many engaging twists that kept the audience in suspense. And from time to time, thunderous applause could be heard.
"The staging of the play 'Dayahatyn' is quite complex for a student work," comments professor Eresh Saparovich Hemraev. "But Yazmyrat Allaberdyev, as a novice director, drew attention to himself from the first year by staging the mono-show 'Zohre and Tahyr.' It should be said that he entered the Institute of Culture as an already well-formed personality, having worked at the House of Culture in Rukhabat, the Puppet Theater, on television, and tried his hand at directing 3 TV films. Therefore, we hoped that Yazmyrat Allaberdyev would cope with the staging of 'Dayahatyn.' And he lived up to our expectations. I must admit that the performance turned out even better than I expected. This is the greatest reward for teachers."
"It was easy for me to work with the cast, because these were students I was well acquainted with from the institute," says Yazmyrat Allaberdyev. "For them, the play 'Dayahatyn' was also a diploma work, just like for me. Eziz Tayliev (Selimkhan) and Kerim Seitguliev (the vizier) helped with advice, but Aysenem Nazarova (Dayahatyn) kept insisting that such things don't happen in life! Together with the guys and Eresh Saparovich, we explained to her that even stranger things happen in life. I want to express my great gratitude to everyone who participated in the performance or helped with its staging."
