The Days of Culture of Turkmenistan are successfully held in the administrative center of the Astrakhan Oblast, the Russian Federation. A number of festive events took place within the framework of the creative forum. Among them are the solemn ceremony of opening the exposition of the funds of the Main National Museum of Turkmenistan and the photo exhibition entitled “Multifaceted country” in the Astrakhan Museum of Local History, opening the Days of Turkmen Cinematography in the Illusion Cinema and performance of the Turkmen State Puppet Theater.
The local workers of culture and art, representatives of the Turkmen diaspora, and students gathered together at the Astrakhan Museum of Local History yesterday in the morning. Minister of Culture of the Astrakhan Oblast Irina Tarasova congratulated those present on behalf of Astrakhan Region Governor Alexander Zhilkin. The minister noted that this action would promote establishing new fruitful creative and professional contacts between the representatives of the sphere of culture, creating more active humanitarian dialogue aimed at strengthening traditional ties of the Turkmen-Russian friendship that bounded the two peoples for many years.
The old national dresses, household articles, original samples of the decorative and applied art that are an integral and significant part of the spiritual and material culture of the Turkmen people were showcased at the exposition. Musical instruments as well as amazing in their diversity skillful works created by Turkmen jewelers aroused keen interest among visitors. Each exhibit presented at the exposition as if invited visitor to start a thoughtful dialogue about everlasting values. The national melodies and songs performed by Turkmen musicians maintained this atmosphere.
The mobile photo exhibition entitled “Multifaceted country” organized by the editorial staff of the Turkmenistan International Journal was opened in the museum. The presentation of the exhibition took place in Ashgabat, Moscow, St. Petersburg. The exposition will be arranged in the cities of the Russian Federation familiarizing the local citizens with the panorama of life of modern Turkmenistan. The organisers of the exposition have created a generalized character of our country living in the new historical epoch of progressive changes. The three thematic sections of the photo exhibition present 100 photos demonstrating unique nature of our country, its ancient monument and new architecture, national holidays and working days, the faces of people of various ages and professions.
The Days of Turkmen Cinematography opened in the Illusion Cinema in the afternoon. The programme of the film festival included a famous film “Competition” that received the Magtymguly International State Award and is well-known in many countries of the world. The thoughts about the all-conquering power of art, kindness and justice make the film actual and attractive for modern spectators.
The documentary was presented by the film “Turkmen Carpet”. This is an informative story about the history of a Turkmen carpet, the philosophical component of this art and its significance in the Turkmen people’s life. Based on historical facts, the authors of the film present unique facts about the importance of Turkmen carpets in the cultural relations with the peoples of various regions. The people of Astrakhan could assess the creative searches of the representatives of the modern cinematography watching the film “Milky Way” created by Kerim Annanov in 2010. The film reveals the eternal theme of relations between generations.
In the evening the Turkmen State Puppet Theater presented the spectacle “Fun in the Karakum Desert” at the Astrakhan Puppet Theater.
New heroes were included into play especially for young spectators of Astrakhan, one of them – Sun greeting children and symbolizing warmth and cordiality that artists had brought from Turkmenistan. The main idea of the performance that is in keeping with the main goal of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Astrakhan Oblast is to show the triumph of peace, friendship and creativity. The national Turkmen music and the works by foreign composers sounded within the framework of the bright and musical performance.
