Within the framework of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan the delegation of the workers of culture ad art of our country visited the Privolzhsky Federal District – the region of residing of the Turkmen diaspora.
The Astrakhan Department of the Humanitarian Association of the World Turkmen makes a significant contribution to enriching the cultural relations, and the regional public organisations of the Turkmen culture promote preserving the native language and literature among Turkmens living in the Astrakhan oblast.
That was vividly proved by the cordial meeting with the Turkmen delegation taken place at the central square of the Nachalovo Settlement in the Privolzhsky Federal District the Astrakhan Oblast, where our compatriots from neighbouring settlements and representatives of numerous peoples residing in the region gathered. The representatives of the local authorities and the Minister of Culture of the Astrakhan Oblast cordially welcomed the guests.
It should be noted that Magtymguly Fragi had visited the Astrakhan lands several times starting from 1970. It was there where hundred years ago the first collection of works by the poet was published in the Turkmen language. Therefore one of the main topics for discussions during the meeting was the poetry of our great poet and thinker.
The poet’s poems and songs based on them performed by the masters of art of Turkmenistan became a wonderful gift to our compatriots. Turkmen national songs, modern music, folk musical and dance compositions were performed during the concert organized by the creative delegation of Turkmenistan.
The hosts demonstrated their numerous talents fascinating the guests with masterly performance. It is notable that representatives of various ethnic groups residing in the Privolzhsky Federal District took an active part in the festival of friendship. Turkmen music harmonized with the Russian and Tatar national songs, as well as Kazakh dances, and the poems by Magtymguly Fragi sounded in different languages and were close and understandable without translation. The meeting turned into a real holiday of fraternity.
In the afternoon the Turkmen delegation returned to Astrakhan. The artists of the Turkmen State Puppet Theater presented another performance at the stage of their Astrakhan colleagues.
