Universities and vocational schools of Turkmenistan offer applicants a wide range of specialties

An admission campaign for higher and secondary vocational educational institutions has been launched in Turkmenistan, with ongoing acceptance of documents from applicants. 

Universities and vocational schools of our country offer a wide range of specialties, with the number of programs traditionally increased this year. 

A total of 22 new specialties have been introduced in the educational institutions of the country. Of these, 12 programs for specialists, bachelor's and master's degrees will be launched in the coming academic year in seven universities, while four vocational schools will offer ten new specialties. 

Four higher educational institutions will begin training specialists and bachelor's students in new fields. These include the Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute named after Seyitnazar Seydi, which will offer programs in Defectology, Chinese, Persian, and Turkmen languages and literature. The Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction will introduce programs in Standardization, Metrology, Certification, Seismology and Earthquake-Resistant Construction. The Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management will offer a new program in International Trade. The Institute of Engineering and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan will introduce programs in the Technical Operation of Aircraft and Engines, as well as the Technical Operation of Aviation and Radio-Electronic Equipment of Aircraft.

Three universities have introduced new master's programs. The Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A. Niyazov offers the new programs in Agricultural Economics and Management, and Zootechny. The Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan offers programs in International Arbitration and Business Law. The Turkmen State Institute of Culture has introduced a program in Cultural Studies.

New specialties have also emerged in the following vocational schools: the Indira Gandhi Medical School in Ashgabat offers Radiology; the Dashoguz Agro-Industrial School offers programs in Production Economics and Organization, Economics and Accounting, Digital Economy, Land Management and Cadastres; the Bayramali Agro-Industrial School offers Veterinary Pharmacy and Food Production Technology; and the Mary Oil and Gas School offers programs in the Installation and Operation of Internal Sanitary Devices, Air Conditioning and Ventilation, Measuring Instruments and Automation, and Welding Production.

Alongside the increase in specialties, the admission of students to educational institutions has also risen. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the planned admission is 15,926 applicants to universities, which is 303 more than last year. Of these, 15,303 students will be admitted to specialist and bachelor's programs, and 623 to master's programs.

The list of training programs in universities and vocational schools of the country is annually expanded, and the number of students is growing. The training of young specialists in educational institutions is conducted at a high level, which is supported by innovative transformations in the national education system and extensive work to bring it to the level of world standards.

State-of-the-art campuses of universities and vocational schools, equipped with advanced technology, are being built across the country. Curricula and programs are constantly being improved, and new textbooks and manuals are being developed. Student youth regularly participate in various scientific and educational forums, competitions, Olympiads and other events held at national, regional and international levels. Educational institutions of Turkmenistan successfully and fruitfully cooperate with leading scientific centers and universities worldwide. Within the framework of international cooperation, there is an exchange of experience, joint research and educational activities are conducted, and Turkmen students undergo mobile learning and internships abroad.

The training of highly qualified, in-demand personnel, specialists of a new generation, and the education of talented, erudite, well-rounded youth is a priority task for the state. To achieve this, all necessary conditions and ample opportunities have been created in the country.
