From September 15 to 22 on the federal territory "Sirius" Russian Federation will host the Open International Astronomical Olympiad (OWAO-2024), about which announced the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan.
Representatives from all countries are invited to participate in the Olympiad - students of various ages (up to 18 years inclusive) included teams from 4 to 6 participants. Each country can be represented only one team accompanied by up to two leaders and two observers.
The Olympics includes four rounds - theoretical, practical, observational and blitz tour. The participants of the Olympiad will have interesting tasks to work on there was an Academic Commission consisting of representatives different countries. Assignments will be given to participants in English language. Based on this, team leaders in advance a glossary (dictionary of terms) is provided for translation. In while working on assignments, all participants will have access to English national dictionaries of terms that can be used in all rounds of the Olympiad. The volume of dictionaries is 100-300 words and terms necessary for participants to complete tasks and record of the decision.
An extensive cultural program has been prepared for Sirius guests. program, which will include lectures, master classes and excursions.
