President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to take part in the meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government.
During the meeting the Turkmen leader and his guests exchanged their views on a wide spectrum of issues of the bilateral international cooperation, including within the Commonwealth of Independent States. Specifying the vectors for further cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the significance of guaranteeing the reliable and stable transit of energy resources to the international markets.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia underlined the interest of his country in widening cooperation with Turkmenistan in the sphere of the agrarian and food industries, textile industry, as well as creation of joint enterprises in these spheres. In this regard, the Turkmen leader and his guest expressed belief that the specific ways for further enhancing the efficient partnership between the two countries would be defined during the meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Armenian Commission for economic cooperation. In particular, the meeting agenda will focus on the issues regarding opening the trading houses of Turkmenistan and Armenia in Ashgabat and Erevan.
