President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Akil Akilov, who arrived in the Turkmen capital to take part in the meeting of the Council of the CIS Heads of Government.
The President of Turkmenistan and his guest discussed the prospects of the Turkmen-Tajik dialogue built given the existing potential, national interests and priority tasks of the state development.
Particular attention was paid to the opportunities of establishing mutually beneficial cooperation in the sphere of power industry, as well as the issues regarding the important infrastructure projects – construction of the gas pipe line through the territory of Afghanistan and a railway that would be of particular importance not only for Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, but the whole region as well.
In conclusion of the meeting the guest expressed his sincere admiration with the white-marble Turkmen capital. “Within the five years since my last visit, Ashgabat has changed out of all recognition. The citizens of Ashgabat should be proud of their city that has no analogues in the world”, said Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Akil Akilov.
