Four students from Turkmenistan secured prize-winning places at the IV International Olympiad on Financial Security, the final of which was held in the federal territory "Sirius" in the Russian city of Sochi.
The well-deserved title of winner and the honorable first place in the "Economics" category was awarded to Jennet Berdiyeva, a third-year student at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management.
Aysenem Nuriyeva, a fourth-year student at the Turkmen State Institute of Finance, also showed an excellent result in this category and took second place.
Nurmuhammet Tajimyradov, a third-year student at Magtymguly Turkmen State University, got the second place in the "Information Security" category.
Arslan Shaimov, a third-year student at the Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management, was awarded second place in the "International Relations" category.
The national team representing Turkmenistan in the final stage of the Olympiad consisted of nine students from the aforementioned universities and the International University for the Humanities and Development.
In total, about 600 participants from different countries around the world reached the Olympiad's final, having successfully passed preliminary qualifying tests and meeting in "Sirius" as per annual tradition.
The winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad included 28 schoolchildren and 82 students from Russia, as well as 56 students from 36 foreign countries, including four students from our country.
The Olympiad was held in four categories: Economics; Information Security; Law; International Relations.
During their five-day stay in "Sirius," participants attended dozens of events: lectures, interactive workshops, master classes, panel discussions, "Talks about Important Things," quizzes, contests, a festival of Russian folk games, the opening of an exhibition "Culture and Traditions of Siberian Peoples," and sports competitions.
The final stage concluded with a solemn awards ceremony for winners and closing of the Olympiad with honorary guests in attendance.
This year, the Olympiad significantly expanded its geographical reach by gathering 36 participating countries—17 more than last year. The competition brought together young representatives from Russia, Belarus, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Pakistan, Bahrain, Algeria, Bolivia, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Vietnam, Egypt, India, Indonesia, China, Iraq, Cuba, Lebanon, Mauritania, Namibia, Mexico, Morocco, UAE, Peru, Oman, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Ecuador and Ethiopia.
The Olympiad movement is steadily growing as interest among young people in today's relevant issues of financial literacy and security increases worldwide. The Olympiad opens up many new talents; it allows participants to implement bright unconventional ideas and helps them decide on their future profession.
The International Olympiad on Financial Security has been held since 2021 by order of the President of the Russian Federation. The organizers are the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation; Federal Financial Monitoring Service; Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation; educational organizations of the International Network Institute (INI).
The purpose of the Olympiad is to enhance information, financial and legal literacy among youth; to identify talents; to stimulate educational-cognitive and scientific-research activities in financial security.
The objectives include developing new forms of thinking and activity formats; promoting career guidance for students to form a human resource for financial security system; creating a unified educational-scientific-research—and eventually information—space in financial security.
