President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov leading the government delegation of Turkmenistan left the country for the People’s Republic of China to take part in the 12th Meeting of the Council of Heads of the SCO Member States as a Guest of Honour on the invitation of Chairman of the People’s Republic of China Hu Jintao.
During the state visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to China in November 2011, the Turkmen leader received an official invitation to take part in the representative forum in Beijing. Later, the Head of the friendly country reaffirmed his invitation sending an address to the Turkmen leader, where the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China underlined that the Summit to be held in the Chinese capital on June 6-7 had been an important meeting with particular historical mission given that the new trends of cooperation between the SCO member states and their regional partners, the ways of joint counteraction to the global threats and challenges would be defined, and the approaches for building the constructive intergovernmental cooperation under the present historical conditions would be discussed during the meeting.
Within the framework of the bilateral meeting to be held during the visit to Beijing, the leaders of Turkmenistan and China will discuss the existing situation and prospects for further intensification of traditional relations and efficient cooperation for the benefit of the two fraternal peoples.
