President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in the People’s Republic of China on a working visit, received Chairman of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Board of Directors Mr. Jiang Jemin.
During the meeting the President of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the CNPC Board of Directors exchanged their views on the prospects and potential for widening the mutually beneficial cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, within the framework of which a number of large-scale projects are implemented, including a grandiose project of the XXI century – construction of the longest in Eurasia gas pipeline Turkmenistan-China.
During the meeting the Chairman of the CNPC Board of Directors reported on the progress in implementing the projects on ‘blue fuel’ production in Turkmenistan and creation of the necessary industrial infrastructure on the gas-bearing deposits on the right bank of the Amu Darya River within the framework of the production sharing agreement signed with Turkmenistan earlier.
In particular, the Chairman of the CNPC Board of Directors informed the Turkmen leader on the existing situation on the project on construction of the second gas-processing plant on the Bagyyarlyk contractual area aimed at ensuring the export of extra volume of ‘blue fuel’ to the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in his turn, underlined the significance of developing the rich hydrocarbon resources in the basin of the Amu Darya River in the context of diversifying development of the national fuel and energy complex and brining the Turkmen energy resources to the world markets, as well as given the paramount importance Turkmenistan had paid to strengthening partnership with China, continuing and enhancing the traditions of the Turkmen-Chinese friendship.
