Young musicians and artists in the "Crossroads of Arts" project

The Byashim Nurali Children's Art School hosted a New Year's concert as part of the international project "Crossroads of Arts," featuring students from the Special Music Boarding School and Ashgabat Music School No. 3. The goal of the project is to unite different forms of art.

The concert program included beloved New Year melodies such as "New Year's Medley," "Little Red Riding Hood"* by Sergei Rachmaninoff, "Taka-Taka" by Joe Dassin, "Ballad" by Nury Halmamedov, "Folk Melody," and others. The audience enjoyed performances on instruments like the violin, block flute, piano, saxophone and oboe.

Each young musician was warmly welcomed with enthusiastic applause. After the concert, another delightful event took place—the announcement of results and awarding of winners for the "Marine Sketches" competition.

A month earlier, a concert had been held at the Children's Art School featuring six parts of Aina Shirova's "Marine Sketches" cycle for oboe and piano. As part of the competition, young marine artists were tasked with creating drawings inspired by these musical pieces that celebrated the beauty of the Caspian Sea. During the performance, students from the art school listened to the music while sketching their ideas for future artworks.

The results of the competition were impressive. Around 30 works in various techniques—watercolor, pencil, ink, charcoal, gouache, and even oil—were submitted for evaluation by the jury. Ultimately, 12 of the best paintings were selected.  Following the award ceremony, the concert organizers surprised the children with a festive "snowfall." Although the snow was artificial and created using spray cans, both children and adults were thrilled and filled with joy.
