President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chairs the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan to consider the priority state policy issues, and drafts of important documents.

Before opening the meeting, the Turkmen leader congratulated those present and citizens of Turkmenistan on the Day of Science. According to the President of Turkmenistan our country has carried out a large-scale work on developing science, directing scientific researches towards the urgent and prospective areas, encouraging youth in science. The Turkmen leader noted that Turkmenistan would continue implementing reformes aimed at improvement the sphere of science, and further increase of the scientific potential of the country.

Then the President presented the meeting agenda and gave the floor to Vice Premier, Executive Secretary of the President’s Office H. Muhammedov, who reported on the existing situation in the sectors under his supervision, as well as on fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions.

Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva reported on the work carried out by the national Parliament to update the regulatory framework in line with the priorities of the state policy and given new tasks.

Vice Premier A. Gochyev who is in charge of the economic block, reported on the existing situation in the sectors under his supervision, and the progress in implementing the state programmes aimed at improving the work of the financial and banking institutions of the country. In particular, the Vice Premier reported on the preparations for the 22d meeting of the Regional Planning Council of the Economic Cooperation Organization to be held in Ashgabat on June 11-13. The heads of various state agencies of the ECO member states are expected to arrive in the Turkmen capital to take part in the meeting. Turkmenistan will be represented by the heads of financial, banking and statistical agencies.

Underlining that the foreign-policy strategy implemented in Turkmenistan has been widely recognized by the world community, the Turkmen leader underlined the necessity of widening the fruitful international relations. Noting that our country would continue enhancing constructive dialogue with all interested sides, promoting development of mutually beneficial economic relations between the countries of the region and the world as well, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Vice Premier to hold the meeting of the Regional Planning Council of the Economic Cooperation Organization in Ashgabat at the high level.

Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on the outcome of the working trip of the President of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China.

It was noted that the Turkmen leader’s participation in the SCO Summit in Beijing as a Guest of Honour proves the high authority of neutral Turkmenistan at the world arena, as well as the increasing interest of foreign partners, including leading regional and international organisations in cooperation with our country. Speaking at the forum, the President of Turkmenistan put forward a number of creative initiatives aimed at enhancing fruitful cooperation, including those ones on revving the Great Silk Road as a uniting factor for development.

The Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on the preparations for participation in the International conference on Afghanistan to be held in Kabul on June 14. It was noted that the key aspect of the conference agenda will be the issue of providing assistance to reviving peace and stability in Afghanistan, involving the country into the processes of regional cooperation.

Underlining that Turkmenistan would continue carrying out the policy of peacefulness, good-neighborliness, and constructive cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that our country would further provide the comprehensive assistance and support in the social and economic revival of Afghanistan calling for peaceful settlement of the situation in the neighbouring country, and actively contribute to the efforts of the international community in this area. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded the relevant officials to prepare properly for participation of the Turkmen delegation in the Kabul conference and gave a number of specific instructions.

Then Vice Premier B. Nurmyradova reported on the existing situation in the sectors under her supervision and the preparations for the cultural events in honour of the remarkable dates in the national calendar.

Underlining the important role of the national culture in the progressive policy pursued by independent Turkmenistan, the Turkmen leader dwelt upon the issues of improving the work of this sphere, as well as mass media given the advanced achievements in these areas. Speaking about the preparations for the festivities scheduled for June, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined their significance in brining youth, and demanded the relevant officials to hold the important vents at the high organizational level. The Turkmen leader also emphasized the necessity of guarantying the high level of quality and content of printing products, and, first of all, published articles. Dwelling upon the issue President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the importance of interested and expressive materials dedicated to the rich cultural and spiritual heritage of the Turkmen people.

Then the floor was given to Viece Premier A. Yazmyradov, who reported on the progress in implementing the seasonal agricultural campaigns. In particular, the Vice Premier informed the Turkmen leader on the measures taken in order to accelerate the grain harvesting campaign and increase the efficiency of maintaining agricultural equipment to complete the campaign as soon as possible.

Emphasizing the necessity of the timely and high-quality organization of important agricultural campaigns, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded the Vice Premier to accelerate the paces of the grain harvesting campaign so that to harvest wheat till the last grain.

Vice Premier A. Egeleev reported on the progress in implementing the projects on construction of important social and cultural facilities in the Turkmen capital and the regions of the country.

Commenting on the report President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined given the status of a large business and cultural center in Central Asia, the Turkmen capital had embodied the unique model of a modern, dynamically developing city harmoniously combining beauty and comfort, the advanced achievements of architecture, engineering ideas, and traditions of the national architecture.

Vice Premier B. Hojamuhammedov reported on the progress in implementing the sectoral programmes on developing, including the oil and gas sector, chemical and fish industries, as well as informed the President of Turkmenistan on the outcomes of working trip to Mary Velayat on June 5-7.

Commenting on the report the Turkmen leader focused on the urgent tasks on accelerated development of the fuel and energy complex, the chemical and fish industries of the country. Noting that a number of large-scale investment projects are implemented in the country with the aim to enhance the raw materials and industrial potential, widen the opportunities of exporting Turkmen energy resources, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the significance of further dynamic developing the international cooperation in the energy sector.

Vice Premier R. Seyitkuliev reported on the existing situation in the sectors under his supervision. The Vice Premier informed the Turkmen leader on the measures taken to improve the work of the enterprises of the railway, motor, maritime, river and other types of transport, strengthen and modernize the material and technical basis of the industry.

Vice Premier N. Atagulyev reported on the existing situation in the textile industry, trade and the sphere of foreign-economic relations. The Vice Premier also reported on the outcomes of the working visit of the Government delegation of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China and participation of the Turkmen representatives in the SCO business forum.

Speaking about the significance of developing the regional economic cooperation, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined that Turkmenistan was ready for active cooperation with SCO calling for enhancing friendly dialogue between the peoples of the region, fostering the trading and economic relations, creating efficient platform for fruitful and mutually beneficial partnership. Along with it, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials on the further modernization and increase of the capacities of the national light industry, and development of the trading network in the country.

Vice Premier, Director of the State Agency for Management and Use of Hydrocarbon Resources under the President of Turkmenistan Ya. Kakaev reported on the existing situation in the sectors under his supervision and the outcomes of the working visit of the Government delegation of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China. The Vice Premier also reported on signing the Framework agreement on cooperation between the Turkmengaz State Concern and the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) on exporting extra volumes of Turkmen natural gas to China.

Speaking about the significance of this Agreement, the President of Turkmenistan noted that the document would promote increasing the international authority of our state possessing rich energy resources, and the inflow of additional financial means to the state budget. Underlining that these means will be used for further dynamic development of our sovereign Fatherland, increase of the Turkmen people’s prosperity, the Turkmen leader congratulated those present on signing this important document that was of particular historical significance and demanded the relevant officials to take the issues regarding implementation of this document under the rigorous control.

The other important state policy issues were considered, and the decisions were adopted during the government meeting. Upon concluding the government meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished good health and new accomplishments in their activity for the benefit and happy life of the Turkmen people to the meeting participants.
