The International Children’s Festival united children from Turkmenistan and CIS member states in the picturesque coast of the Caspian Sea, the Avaza National tourist zone.

Turkmenistan once again became a venue for children's creative forum organized by the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Balkan Velayat Khyakimlik on instruction of the President of Turkmenistan. The main goal of the children's creative forum is to strengthen the ties of friendship and fraternity between children of different nations, widen the creative relations between the young citizens of Turkmenistan with their foreign peers, and to bring up gifted generation. The festival is also aimed at preserving, strengthening and developing the traditions of multinational culture of Turkmenistan and foreign countries, providing more opportunities for children from other countries to learn more about the Turkmen culture and art.

Children from eight countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia and Azerbaijan, who arrived in Turkmenistan on invitation of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as young citizens of Turkmenistan from different regions of our Motherland, who successfully participated in the qualification rounds, took part in the festival.

For many of our guests the festival is not only an opportunity to demonstrate their creative abilities, but also the first meeting with Turkmenistan. Thus, the organizers of the cultural event created all necessary conditions so that the days spent in Turkmenistan engrave in memory of young artists.

The rich cultural and entertainment programme included a tour of the sights of the Turkmen capital, and the visit to the Geokdere settlement. Then the participants of the forum arrived in the Avaza National tourism zone, where they were cordially welcomed by the Dayanch children's recreation center for ten-day fascinating holidays.

280 young delegates to the creative forum held within the framework of presidency of Turkmenistan over the CIS in 2012 stayed in the recreation center. Among them were the students of specialized music and art schools, members of famous folk ensembles and dance groups, singers, young painters and readers.

During the week before the festival, the boys and girls became friends and demonstrated their talents taken part in numerous contests, competitions, concerts and sports events. The best conditions created in health-improving center allowed children feeling themselves as if at home enjoying happy holidays and entertainment. Comfortable apartment buildings, aqua park, swimming pools, tennis courts, gym, playgrounds and other sports facilities, clean sandy beaches on the Caspian coast – everything created in the health-improving center for interesting holidays. Children prepared for the festival with great enthusiasm trying to impress each other with new surprises and colorful performances.

And the day came. Vividly decorated stage was set on the sea coast nearby the health-improving center. Everything was ready for the holiday: the festival stage sparkled in the spotlights and floodlights decorated with the flags of the CIS member states, the rays of the setting sun added bright colors to the delightful panorama.

The elevated exciting mood reigned everywhere, workers of culture and art of our country, representatives of various ministries and departments, public organizations, local youth, the elders, and holidaymakers, who arrived in Avaza opening a summer season gathered together there. All guests to the Dayanch health-improving center had a chance to visit the expositions of children’s drawings, photographs, art embroidery and original crafts showcased at the pavilions on the territory of the center.

The festive parade of the forum participants on the main avenue of the Dayanch center anticipated the festival.

Young presenters, boy and girl dressed in the Turkmen national costumes welcomed numerous visitors in the Turkmen and Russian languages. The song, a hymn “Salam, Festival!” sounded symbolysing the beginning of the festive ceremony.

Then the congratulatory address of the President of Turkmenistan was presented. Cordially congratulating children on opening of the International Children's Festival on the sunny shores of the Caspian Sea, the Turkmen leader wished this festival symbolizing friendship, humanity and kind-heartedness stay in the memory of forum participants as a bright holiday inspired with pleasant feelings, exciting moments and meetings with new friends.

“And let this festival promoting creation of strong bridges of friendship among nations and peoples fill our planet with radiant smiles, joyful laugh, beautiful songs and music of our dear children glorifying kindness, peace and universal happiness!” the Turkmen leader’s address was greeted by the storm of applause. White doves symbolizing peace and colourful clouds of balloons rose up to the sky above the ancient Khazar. The international festival of children's talents was open!

The programme of the concert included stirring national dances and songs performed by soloists and ensembles of the countries participating in the festival, as well as the joint numbers. The clear and ringing voices of children sounded in different languages, distinctive ethnic tunes interlaced with classical melodies and popular rhythms.

Festival didn’t limit to a particular genre. And on a large scale it does not matter how brilliantly competitor sung or played an exotic musical instrument. The joy of communication, creativity, discovery and recognition of the new were on the first place.

The feeling of friendship and sincere respect to the art of each other felt everywhere. Colorful national costumes, a variety of folk music styles, multilingualism and artistry of the forum participants created a unique spectacular atmosphere presenting smiles and the wish to open hearts to friendship and the joy of communication. The spirit of the universal holiday and unity embraced the artists and audience, who awarded each performer with the storm of applause.

The final chord of the holiday was a spectacular Turkmen folk dance “Kusht depdi” performed by all participants of the festival. It turned into a sea of colors, feelings, and emotions that overflowed those present. The sincerity and ingenuousness of young talents, and their inspiration made the performance an unforgettable festive event.

The sparkling show came to an end, but children did not go away exchanging their impressions and emotions. Getting off the stage, the festival continued on the sea coast, where children's laugh and songs sounded, children danced and played funny games.
