The paintings painted by Meylis Moshiev, a member of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan, invariably amaze viewers with their amazing realism.
If they were not written in oil on canvas and were not dressed in the frames, it seems that they could be mistaken for perfect color photocopies - the image of various objects was exactly transmitted to them. However, this is probably the case, and Meyis prefer precisely the classic style of realism for many years.
Our attention was drawn to his work by a researcher at the Dashoguz Museum of Local Lore, art critic Batyr Uzakberdiev.
- Meylis is an active participant in our exhibitions and one of the most talented representatives of the oil painting school in Dashoguz province, he noted.
Although oil painting is one of the oldest and most popular techniques, it is still also one of the most difficult in the visual arts. A lot depends on the skills of using a brush, knowledge of the rules and patterns of combining colors, the primer of the canvas and many other factors.
- I always carefully choose and process the canvas, and, probably, like every artist, I have my own recipes for priming, - says Meylis. Over the years, I have developed my own technique of applying brush strokes and achieving the desired texture.
On the question how he manages to depict objects so realistically and accurately convey their colors, Meylis replied as follows:
-I've been painting each of my paintings for months without too much haste, trying to accurately reproduce the objects and surrounding background on canvas.
Meylis Moshiev became interested in painting when he was still a schoolboy, and willingly attended classes at a children's art school in the Gubadag city. This passion determined his choice of profession - he graduated from the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan with a degree in Fine and Applied Arts. His paintings have been exhibited more than once at various exhibitions in Dashoguz velayat and in the capital of the country.
Finally, I want like to reveal one of the main secrets in the paintings of Meylis Moshiev. They should not be viewed from a distance, like most works done with oil paint strokes, but as close as possible to approach them. And then you will not just see an exact copy of the depicted object, you will see this object in reality.
