The Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) are expanding their partnership in the field of protecting children's rights in Turkmenistan in order to ensure their well-being.
The corresponding document was signed during the international conference “Year of Peace and Trust: Development of International Activities for the Sake of Children”, held in the city of Arkadag on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of the establishment of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship.
This step marks a new stage of partnership in the development of healthcare, education, child protection, and addressing issues of social integration in the country.
UNICEF Representative in Turkmenistan Jalpa Ratna noted that the activities of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Guardianship are an excellent example of the implementation of the tradition of helping those who need support. Since its establishment in 2021, the Foundation has been providing treatment and medical assistance to children in need of care throughout the country.
The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan and the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Turkmenistan also signed Work Plans for 2025, and the Ministry of Education and the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan signed Memorandums of Understanding with UNICEF.
