President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to consider the drafts of important documents, the priority issues regarding the social and economic development and domestic and foreign policy issues.
Vice Premiers reported on the progress in implementing the programmes of the social and economic development of the regions for 2012-2016, the outcomes of participation of the Turkmen delegation in the International Conference on Afghanistan in Kabul, preparations for the exhibition of construction materials industry of the Republic of Turkey to be held in Ashgabat on June 19-21, and the Days of Culture of the Republic of Turkey on June 25-27. It was also reported on the work carried out in the agricultural sector and the progress of seasonal agricultural activities, in particular the grain harvesting campaign, the work in the spheres of transport and communication, construction industry and fuel and energy complex.
The Turkmen leader was informed on drafting the document on increasing monthly salary, pensions, state benefits and grants from January 1, 2013. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined that adoption of this document would be another bright evidence of the huge economic potential of our state, the aim for happy life of the Turkmen people.
It was also reported on the progress in further developing the oil and gas industry within the framework of the Programme of the President of Turkmenistan on social and economic development of the country for 2012-2016. Particular attention is this sphere is paid to implementation of the projects based on the Production Sharing Agreements with the leading foreign companies, including CNPC, Petronas, Mitro International Limited. It was noted that eight projects had been implemented in the country using foreign investments, of them three projects on exploration works, and five – on production of hydrocarbon resources.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with the failure to fulfill the tasks on silk cocoon production and severely reprimanded Vice Premier N. Atagulyev. Dwelling upon the work of organisations of the financial and economic block, the President of Turkmenistan expressed dissatisfaction with the work of banking institutions of the country and demanded Vice Premier A. Gochyev to analyze the existing situation and take the appropriate measures to eliminate the shortcomings.
The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolutions “On approving the National strategy of Turkmenistan on climate change”, “On exporting wheat of the 2011 harvest”, “On creation of new sports and tourist newspapers and journals” as well as approved the Regulation on the Turkmennebit State Concern.
The other important state policy issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the government meeting.
