The Indian film festival started in Turkmenbashi. The representatives of the diplomatic corps, masters of culture and art, local citizens, and journalists attended the ceremony of opening the festival organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan with assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of India.
Addressing those present, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to Turkmenistan Mr. Sunil Jain noted that this event had continued the cultural diplomacy aimed at further developing the multi-aspect cooperation between Turkmenistan and India. The Ambassador expressed belief that the festival would allow the people and guests to the seaside city learning more about the culture and life of India, and contribute to enhancing the humanitarian dialogue between the peoples of the two friendly countries.
The festival organisers expressed belief that the interesting and dynamic film stories would attract attention of Turkmen audience and would convey the emotions and thoughts of the Indian people through the heroes.
Within the framework of the film festival, Mr. Sunil Jain will pay a courtesy visit to the Khyakim of the city, visit the Khazar State Reserve and other sights of the seaside city and its suburbs.
