President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a video conference with the khyakims of Ashgabat and velayats.
The video conference agenda focused on the progress in implementing the large-scale national programmes, the priority issues of the state and social life, and first of all, the grain harvesting campaign.
The velayat Khyakims reported on the progress of agricultural activities, including the grain harvesting campaign, and implementing the projects on construction of the social and cultural facilities, the measures taken to prepare for the Day of Workers of Culture and Art.
Underlining the importance of conducting the harvesting campaign at the high level and promptly, taking the necessary measures to pull up the poorly performing etraps, ensure an uninterrupted work of the agricultural equipment, to harvest the crop till the last grain, the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to the velayat khyakims.
Dwelling upon the issue of holding the events dedicated to the forthcoming Day of Workers of Culture and Art at the high level in the regions, the President of Turkmenistan noted that the Government would take particular concern about the workers of the industry, who made significant contribution to increasing the spiritual wealth of the Turkmen people. Approving the project of a new library in Dashoguz Velayat, the Turkmen leader underlined the necessity to implement strictly the programme on the social and economic development of the region.
The Turkmen leader also underlined the significant importance of announcing the Turkmen city Mary the cultural capital of the CIS for 2012 due to the presidency of Turkmenistan over the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2012. In this regard, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the Mary Velayat Khyakim to place banners promoting the high levels achieved in Mary in the new historical epoch of our country in the city.
The Ashgabat Khyakim reported on the progress of works carried out in the Turkmen capital, in particular the measures taken within the framework of implementation of the large-scale urban planning programme, and the progress in reconstruction of existing and construction of new motorways. The Khyakim informed the Turkmen leader that over 5,100 children and spent their summer holidays in Geokdere.
Asking about the social and living of the citizen of Ashgabat, and the daily work on improving them, the Turkmen leader paid particular attention to the measures taken to ensure the proper level of improving the white-marble capital turning it into a blossoming garden. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the necessity of using the original national colour in combination with the most advanced achievements of the technical and engineering ideas in this sphere in the architectural and urban planning design of the city. Moreover, the Turkmen leader got acquainted with the existing situation in implementing the projects for further development of the Turkmen capital.
