President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. During the meeting the drafts of documents were considered and the current tasks and important issues of the state policy were discussed.
The Turkmen leader cordially congratulated those present and the people of Turkmenistan on the Day of Workers of Culture and Art that is widely celebrated in Turkmenistan.
Then the floor was given to Vice Premiers who reported on the progress in implementing the Programme of the President of Turkmenistan on social and economic development of the country for 2012-2016. It was also reported on progress in drafting the list of tax-free exported goods without limitations in terms of quantity as well as the list of dutiable goods and the rates of duties. The Vice Premiers informed the Turkmen leader on the existing situation at the objects under construction within the framework of the National Programme for the improvement of the social and living conditions in settlements, villages, towns in etraps and entrap centres for the period till 2020 was analyzed, and the working plan on accelerating the construction works was drafted. It was also reported on the outcomes of the UN Conference on Sustainable Development Rio+20 in Rio de Janeiro.
The Vice Premiers also reported on the preparations for the Day of Workers of Culture and Art that is widely celebrated in Turkmenistan on June 27, including the ceremonies of opening of new apartment houses, as well as the progress in implementing the seasonal agricultural activities, including the grain harvesting campaign and care of cotton fields, on the preparatory work carried out within the framework of implementation of the Programme of the President of Turkmenistan on the social and economic development of the country for 2012-2016 on construction of the Gurtly gas-turbine power station in Ruhabat Etrap, Ahal Velayat. It was also reported on the measures taken to the further development of the fuel and energy complex, on fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions on construction and purchase of ferry vessel.
Dwelling upon the issues related to the summer holidays, it was noted that 13 children’s health-improving centers worked in Geokdere, two centers - at the Avaza National tourist zone, 46 ones – in the regions, and 850 school-based summer centers were opened. In general, more than 51,000 children spent their holidays within the first stage of the summer season. It was also reported on the preparations for opening a new Recreation Center with a hotel for workers of the textile industry and trading sphere at the Avaza National tourism zone.
Noting that given the important tasks set to the country it is required to establish a management organization will be engaged in developing the sphere of industry, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that it would be reasonable to open the Ministry of Industry. According to the President of Turkmenistan at present, the large-scale tasks on developing the energy sector are set to the Ministry of Energy and Industry of Turkmenistan and this organ of state power is unable to manage developing of industry in the country. Thus, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials to draft the Decree on establishment of the Ministry of Industry of Turkmenistan and prepare the offers on allocating a building for the new ministry.
During the meeting the President of Turkmenistan signed a number of important documents related to some appointments to the diplomatic corps of the country.
The Turkmen leader underlined the necessity to study the achievements of foreign states in developing various branches of the national economy, including the spheres of education, medicine and other sectors. In this regard, in order to introduce the world experience in the Turkmen economy, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolution on the subscription for periodicals published abroad for the second half of the year of 2012.
Dwelling upon the Türkmeniň Altyn Asyry Contest of the President of Turkmenistan that is annually announced among the workers of culture and art, amateur young singers and gifted children, the Turkmen leader noted that in order to widen humanitarian cooperation it was reasonable to organize the International Children’s Creative Contest for talented youth from different countries of the world and instructed the Vice Premier to work at it.
The other important state policy issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the government meeting.
