The new staging based on the opera Magtymguly created by composer Yu. Meytus, who used the libretto by B. Kebabaev and A. Karliev was added to the repertoire of Magtymguly Theatre yesterday.
The President of Turkmenistan visited the exposition telling about the achievements of the Turkmen theater art exhibited at the foyer. The photo materials, fiction and scientific literature, as well as the works of the fine, decorative and applied art were showcased there. Then the Turkmen leader headed to the auditorium.
The curtain was opened and heartfelt poems of Magtymguly Fragi sounded. The depth and wisdom of these poetic words made them imperishable, and thus, each of them finds wide response in the hearts of the present generation of the great poet’s compatriots living in the epoch of might and happiness – the epoch, which Magtymgulu Fragi dreamed of and glorified in his poems.
The idea of the indissoluble spiritual relations of the epochs and generations has become a leitmotif of the new staging. It penetrates the whole musical and poetical groundwork of the staging making the image of the poet close and understandable to each spectator. It is important to note that this idea has been reflected in selection of actors, including masters of musical art and students of the Turkmen National Conservatoire.
The composition of the opera Magtymguly consists of four parts, each of them logically reproduces the process of formation of the great poet and thinker starting from his study at madrasah till the recognition of his talent.
