Representatives of Turkmenistan and Japan Foreign Ministries discuss agenda of cooperation

Turkmen – Japanese political consultations have been held in video conference format. Turkmen side was chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev while Japanese by Shuichi Tokuda, the Second Assistant of the Minister, Deputy General Director of the European Affairs Bureau of the Foreign Ministry, special representative for Central Asia, Caucasus and Guam.

During the talks, the sides have noted positive dynamics of Turkmen – Japanese relations in political and diplomatic as well as in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres. The efficiency of inter-parliamentarian cooperation has been noted.

The sides have highly appreciated the partnership between foreign departments of two countries as well as under international structures, especially under the UN. The sides have also exchanged the views on current issues of regional and international agenda.

Special emphasis has been made on trade and economic cooperation. Positive practice of cooperation in oil, gas and petrochemical industries, energy and transport spheres has been noted during the meeting. The efficiency of the contacts in science, education and medicine has been highlighted.
