Written in 1944, the opera, which is based on dramatic story from life of Abay Kunanbayev, is one of the best achievements of opera art of Kazakhstan.

Our Turkmen brothers have actively participated in the events dedicated to the celebration of the anniversary of Kazakh poet. The team of the State Symphonic Orchestra directed by Rasul Klychev, opera singers Nury Nuriyev, Leyli Okdyrova and other our friends have made big input to the development of relations and cooperation in cultural and humanitarian spheres between Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan. Esteemed President of Turkmenistan pays special attention to popularization of rich spiritual culture of our fraternal Turkmen people. We have similar culture and languages and we have many things to be proud off. Similar joint events enriched the culture of our nations.

Accepting high appreciation of work of the orchestra, the musicians and singers again delighted the guests of the events with performance of arias from “Abay” Opera. Tenor Atajan Berdiyev has sung a song on the lyrics of first President of Kazakhsta Nursultan Nazarbayev.
