Educational work in the field of protection of the rights of the child
During the summer holidays, the Mejlis of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, together with the Ombudsman's Office, the Ministry of Education, with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Program, conducts training seminars for children vacationing in the children's health centers in Gokdere.
During information sessions, children get acquainted with the provisions and basic principles of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, how to ensure the best interests of the child, his development and social integration, increase knowledge in the field of national legislation in the field of child rights. The workshops are held in an interactive format, and at the end, children fill out special questionnaires that will be used to develop an alternative report to the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

We are pleased to see that this work is now fully led and organized by the Mejlis of Milli Gengesh, our long-standing partner in child rights law», said Alexandru Nartea, UNICEF Deputy Representative in Turkmenistan, while attending a session at the Nebitchi summer camp.
Today, training sessions have been held in the children's health centers "Yashlyk" and "Nebitchi", and by the end of the summer it is planned to attend three more. It should be noted that over 120 children from all over the country will take part in the sessions and share their vision of the future they want.
