Art collective of A. S. Pushkin State Russian Drama Theatre has prepared new play «My Friends! Our Union in Beautiful!» with intriguing clarification that is based on real events by the 222nd birthday of Alexander Pushkin. As one can figure out from the name of the play, it dedicated college years of great Russian poet. Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Natalya Laukert is an author and director of the play.

Rasul Klychev: three concerts to listen to …

June 6 at 19.00 at the National Music and Drama Theater named Makhtumkuli will host a concert «Charlie Chaplin's film «Baby» performed by the youth chamber orchestra conducted by Rasul Klychev. The occasion for this concert was the 100th anniversary of the release of the silent full-length American film «Baby». For Charlie Chaplin, this tragicomedy had a special meaning: here the film star performed in five guises - as a composer, screenwriter, director, actor and producer.

International drawing contest: children from 15 countries speak about their happy childhood

On June 1, the doors of the gallery of the State Art Academy of Turkmenistan were opened for International children drawing contest “Happy Childhood”. It has become one of the brightest events on International Children Day. Children from 15 n neighboring and other countries have sent 1,735 pictures, which filled the whole space of the gallery and put the visitors into atmosphere of kindness, warmth, careless and happy childhood. Turkmen children are authors of 372 works from total amount of exhibited pictures.

Tamdyr: National bakery traditions

Every Turkmen home, which has a small yard, has round clay oven, the tamdyr. Tamdyr has existed in life of peoples of Caucasus, East and Central Asia throughout the history. It is hard to say how old this ancient invention is, but much probably, the tamdyr appeared at the dawn of time when having decided to make a difference in their predominantly meat menu, people have learned how to cultivate the wheat and make flour out of it. The tamdyr has come after the skewer. During excavations of ancient country of Margiana on the territory of modern Turkmenistan, archaeologists have discovered the remains of clay ovens, which ancient ancestors of Turkmens used to bake a bread. Many things have changed for the past millenniums, the world itself has changed but this simple construction, which were preserved in its original shape, have remained the same.
