On the eve of the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, which starts in Glasgow (UK) in October of that year, the international video project “Earthbeat Challenge.

Under the theme “Restoring Balance with Nature”, this initiative aims to empower young people around the world to take action to tackle climate change by providing the platform, tools and knowledge to do so. Earthbeat was developed with the goal of empowering young people to develop their digital storytelling and journalism skills so that they can become active participants in addressing climate and environmental issues.

“We want to empower youth to harness the power of the Internet and technology, join all local initiatives and turn community action into a movement for global change,” said Earthbeat Challenge organizer Nick Turner.

For example, within the framework of the competition, young people aged 14 to 30 years old are invited to create three-minute videos illustrating their contribution to the fight against the climate crisis, actions to protect and restore biodiversity and ecosystems in rural or urban areas.

To participate, you must fill out the appropriate form, attach your film and send it to earthbeat@youth4planet.org.

An international team of judges will review all applications and select the best films to be screened at upcoming global events, including the UN Climate Change Conference. The distinguished participants will also have the opportunity to attend a master class on making films in online format, receive equipment for making films (external microphones and software for smartphones).

A separate award is provided for films containing important information, as well as for filmmakers who have hidden potential for making films.
