The Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after D.Azadi hosted a ceremony of commissioning classrooms for teaching Japanese.

The event within the framework of the Japanese Government Project "Grant Assistance for Cultural Grassroots" was held with the participation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Turkmenistan Yamamoto Hiroyuki, Rector of the D.Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages Maral Kuliyeva, senior specialist in Japanese Ito Hiroshi and his assistant Katsu Naruhito, as well as others specialists in the field of Japanese language teaching.

Thus, the classrooms are fully equipped with modern equipment, in particular a simultaneous translation booth, computers with simultaneous translation software, printers and other necessary equipment for training personnel in the field of teaching the language of the Land of the Rising Sun.

As the Ambassador of Japan noted in his speech, currently the number of students of Japanese language in educational institutions of Turkmenistan is about 13,360 people. In 2015, their number was approximately 500 people. This is one of the highest growth rates in the number of Japanese language learners in the world.

The Cultural Grant Assistance Program is aimed at promoting the development of culture and education in different countries and cultural exchange between Japan and these countries, as well as strengthening friendly relations and mutual understanding.
