Taking place in Ashgabat The exhibition of economic achievements of Turkmenistan has become a universal platform for the presentation of new projects and promising developments in various areas of life.

A wide range of scientific research is demonstrated at the stand of the Center of Technology of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan. In the laboratories of the Technocentre, research is carried out on an ongoing basis in the field of bio-, nano-, information technologies, physical and chemical in-depth study of substances, molecular biomaterials, hydrocarbon raw materials, etc.

Today, new developments of Turkmen scientists are exhibited at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

- The laboratories of the domestic Technology Centre are actively working to introduce the principles of waste-free production, -says Hurma Muhammetgulyyeva, head of the food technology laboratory. – Recently, the first useful semi-finished products created on the basis of a biotechnological laboratory were presented. These are instant noodles, dry soups, dry juices, melon concentrates, pumpkin and corn flour. In addition, we have made progress in the technology for obtaining dry camel thorn extract.


Camel thorn has been used in folk medicine as a remedy since ancient times. Its beneficial properties are described in detail in the scientific work of Hero-Arkadag «Medicinal Plants of Turkmenistan». The multi-volume encyclopedia notes that 10 species of camel thorn grow in the world, 4 of them are found in Turkmenistan.

When taken orally, camel thorn stops the development of tumors, helps with colds and cleanses the body.

Test samples of crackers made from camel thorn extract were prepared according to a special recipe. The organoleptic method determined the following indicators in cookies: shape, surface, colour, broken appearance, taste and smell. As research work has shown, new food products meet high environmental safety and quality requirements.

Dry extract of camel thorn, containing antioxidants, is no less effective in treating diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and strengthening blood vessels. It can also be recommended as a therapeutic and prophylactic agent to enhance the immune system.
