Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via a digital system to consider current issues of the country’s socio-economic development and drafts of a number of documents.
The floor was first given to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers H. Geldimyradov, who reported on the preparation of a draft Order on presenting cash gifts to women of the country on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
According to the relevant Decree of the head of state, proper work has been carried out in this area. It was confirmed that the necessary amounts of financial resources have been provided for these purposes.
Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that during the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, our women are doing a lot of work, making a considerable contribution to the Homeland’s prosperity.
In order to continue the noble traditions of ancestors in honoring our dear mothers and sisters, the President of Turkmenistan signed the relevant Order. Having sent the document to the deputy prime minister by the digital facility, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered to present monetary gifts to the women and girls of the country in a solemn atmosphere on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Amanov reported on the measures being taken by the State Concern “Türkmennebit” to increase oil production.
It was reported that the State Concern is carrying out relevant work in oil and gas fields. The development of new areas is under way in order to increase the oil extraction rate from wells being drilled in promising fields in the west of the country. Currently, several wells are operated on the site and new boreholes are being drilled according to plan.
In addition, advanced methods and international practice are widely applied when drilling new wells and developing existing fields.
Moreover, timely maintenance services and the necessary specialized equipment are provided to increase the productivity of wells and effectively drill new boreholes.
Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov specified that our country attaches great importance to increasing oil production, and the activities of the “Türkmennebit” State Concern in this area must be carried out on a scientific basis.
In this regard, the head of state drew attention to the need to continue the work ongoing to further improve the logistics of the Concern, giving the deputy prime minister a number of instructions in this regard.
Then Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyev reported on the progress of current seasonal agricultural work in the regions of the country.
As was reported, appropriate measures are taken to treat areas for cotton sowing, and preparing agricultural machinery and seeds for the spring sowing campaign. Along with this, crop care continues in order to gather a bountiful wheat harvest, and the necessary work is carried out to provide the population with potatoes and vegetables, watermelons and melons grown in the country.
Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov focused on the importance that must be attached to the work to prepare land for the cotton sowing season and treating fields sown to wheat, and ordered to complete them within the agro-technical deadlines and with high quality.
Speaking about the need to provide agricultural crops with sufficient irrigation water, the head of state instructed the deputy prime minister to pay special attention to collecting water in the country’s reservoirs.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Annamammedov reported on the work ongoing for the reconstruction of the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex.
As is known, during the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, all necessary measures are taken in Turkmenistan to develop horse breeding, increase the number of Akhalteke horses, and further spread throughout the world the glory of this unique breed of “heavenly” horses, which are an excellent example of beauty and grace.
The project provides for the construction of new additional stables, a veterinary pharmacy, an equestrian accessories store, open-type parking lots, water collection ponds, technical buildings, as well as for the installation of monitors of various sizes and modern equipment within the equestrian complex.
In addition, it is planned to reconstruct the existing stables, the main entrance, stands for spectators, a quarantine building, a sports ground, an open arena, as well as landscaping of the surrounding areas.
Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov especially emphasized that horses are the national pride of the Turkmen people.
“We pay great attention to the development of horse breeding in our country, including equestrian sports”, the head of state said, instructing the deputy prime minister to keep under strict control the reconstruction of the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex, as well as performing high-quality work in this area.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Atdayev reported on the activities ongoing to develop the textile industry and upgrade enterprises of the industry.
According to the deputy prime minister, high-quality textile products are manufactured at enterprises with modern equipment, which are in high demand both in the domestic and foreign markets.
In this regard, appropriate measures are taken to further modernize textile industry enterprises, use production facilities at full capacity and increase the exports of finished products.
Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the deputy prime minister to keep under control the activities to increase the productivity of textile enterprises and constantly improve the financial and economic performance of the industry.
Deputy Chairwoman of the Cabinet of Ministers M. Mammedova reported on the Procedure for holding the major events scheduled for March and celebrations on the occasion of the opening of social facilities.
Various conferences, meetings, media forums, awareness-raising events, exhibitions, musical celebrations, tours, as well as summing up the results of previously announced creative competitions are scheduled for the coming month.
There will be screenings of films and documentaries dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of great poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi and declaring Anau city the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
Festive events will be organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day, which is traditionally widely celebrated in our country.
Celebrations on the occasion of the National Spring Holiday will be held at the festive grounds in front of the velayat “Türkmeniň ak öýi” and in the city of Arkadag, as well as in “Nowruz ýaýlasy”.
In addition, there are plans to hold an International Conference “Basic directions and potential for tourism development in Turkmenistan”. A press conference “Turkmen land – the center of ancient cultures” is also to be organized with the participation of representatives of foreign media.
Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of holding events and opening ceremonies of social facilities scheduled for March at a high organizational level, giving specific instructions to the deputy prime minister.
Then the Cabinet Deputy Chairwoman reported on the organization of celebrations timed to coincide with the start of events on the occasion of declaring the city of Anau the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
According to the Plan approved by the Decree of the President of Turkmenistan, a ceremony isplabbed on the occasion of this event to take place in “Türkmeniň ak öýi” at the “Nowruz ýaýlasy” site in Ak Bugday etrap of the Akhal Velayat on March 26 of the year “The Fount of Wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi”.
As part of the celebrations, a number of events are scheduled with the participation of representatives of the Turkic peoples, including a concert, an exhibition of fine and decorative art works, products of photographers, an international scientific conference, as well as a conference of the heads of national and state museums of the TURKSOY member countries. Along with this, a press conference is to be held with the participation of representatives of foreign media.
Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that Anau city has an ancient history closely connected with the glorious past of our people. In this regard, the head of state instructed to ensure a high organizational level of preparation and holding of international events on declaring Anau the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024.
Further, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan N. Amannepesov reported on preparations for the International Scientific Conference “Ancient Anau Culture”.
As was reported, during the Revival of the New Epoch of the Powerful State, the history, material and spiritual heritage of the ancestors, which have become the item of national pride of the Turkmen people, are carefully studied on a scientific basis.
On March 27, on the occasion of declaring the ancient city of Anau the “Cultural Capital of the Turkic World” in 2024 by the member states of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the International Scientific Conference “Ancient Anau Culture” will be held.
It is expected that known historians, archaeologists, orientalists, professors, young scientists and representatives of museums from the United States, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Turkiye, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Kyrgyzstan and other foreign countries will attend this international forum.
The forum participants will also take participation in celebrations and events organized in the city of Anau, Ak Bugday Etrap, Akhal Velayat, on the occasion of awarding this city the status of the cultural capital of the Turkic world this year.
Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted that the history of our country goes back thousands of years. Anau is the home of the ancient culture of the Turkmen land.
Emphasizing the importance of the scheduled international scientific conference dedicated to the glorious past of the Turkmen people, the head of state instructed the deputy prime minister to hold it at a high organizational level and ensure broad participation of scientists in this event.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on the Work Plan for cooperation between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe for 2024.
One of the priority directions of the Homeland’s foreign policy is the development of constructive partnerships with authoritative international organizations. OSCE is one of them, joint actions with which are effective, systematic and cover a wide range of areas.
Appropriate comprehensive steps are taken in order to strengthen this long-term cooperation and promote international initiatives of neutral Turkmenistan. In particular, work is under way to organize a visit to our country by the OSCE Secretary General in March this year, as well as to hold, as part of this visit, a high-level meeting of the heads of environmental ministries of the Central Asian states in Ashgabat.
As is known, since 1999 the OSCE Center has been operating on a permanent basis in the Turkmen capital. As part of joint plans, more than 500 projects in various fields have been carried out over the past 25 years.
Currently, jointly with the OSCE Center in Ashgabat and the relevant government agencies of our country, a Plan of projects to be carried out in 2024 has been prepared. According to this document, it is envisaged to carry out specific activities in key areas of collaboration between Turkmenistan and OSCE. In total, 37 projects are planned for the implementation this year.
As for the politics, there is a plan to carry out a number of projects aimed at strengthening peace and security, developing preventive diplomacy, and dealing with modern challenges and threats.
Projects to be carried out in the economic and environmental areas are designed to help address important issues related to economic development and regional economic cooperation, increasing energy efficiency, strengthening environmental safety, and climate change.
As for the humanitarian fields, it is also planned to implement a number of projects covering relevant activities in such fields as science and education, protection of human rights and freedoms, improving the foundations of the country’s democratic institutions, promoting gender equality, addressing the issues of statelessness, media development, etc.
In this regard, an above-mentioned draft Plan was submitted to the head of state for consideration.
Summing up the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that strengthening and expanding cooperation with international organizations has invariably been among the priorities of the foreign policy strategy of neutral Turkmenistan. A clear indication in this respect is the successful long-term diverse partnership with OSCE.
Specifying that the prepared Plan, aimed at further effective cooperation with this Organization, covers the political, economic, environmental and humanitarian fields, the head of state instructed the deputy prime minister, foreign minister to continue systematic work to develop constructive cooperation with OSCE.
Director General of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers M. Chakyev reported on the state of affairs in the institutions under his supervision, in particular on the work ongoing to further update the activities of the Turkmenbashy International Seaport.
As was reported, the necessary measures are taken to effectively use the capacities of the seaport, expand the volume and quality of transport services offered, develop mutual trade and increase transit traffic.
Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said that our country is located at the crossroads of important global transport corridors, instructing the Agency head in this regard to continue relevant work in this area.
A number of other issues of public activity were also discussed at the meeting, on which appropriate decisions were made.
