Today, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has held a working meeting via a digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyev, who is in charge of the agro-industrial complex, and the khyakims of velayats to review the progress of seasonal field work in the country and the development of the domestic agro-industrial complex.

The floor was first given to Akhal Velayat Khyakim R. Hojagulyev, who reported on the pace of agricultural campaigns in the region.

As was reported, these days sowing cotton has begun in the velayat, in view of which the necessary measures are taken to complete the work within the agro-technical time frame. Particular attention is paid to operating agricultural machinery and equipment at full capacity.

At the same time, application of mineral fertilizers and vegetative irrigation of wheat fields are underway. Treatment is carried out in accordance with agro-technical standards in the fields sown to potatoes and other vegetable, watermelon and melon crops.

Moreover, preparations are ongoing in the velayat for the cocoon production season, including providing silkworm breeders with silkworm eggs and concluding agreements with them.

The report also covered the construction progress of facilities for various purposes being carried out in the region as part of the Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022-2028 and the National Rural Program, scheduled for commissioning this year.

Having heard the report, and emphasizing the importance of a responsible approach to the seasonal agricultural work in progress these days, Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the khyakim to comply with the agro-technical requirements when treating wheat fields, and conducting the cotton sowing up to the mark and within the established deadlines.

The President of Turkmenistan also ordered to focus on the timely and high-quality completion of work planned for the current year in the velayat under the Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022-2028.

Then Balkan Velayat Khyakim H. Ashyrmyradov reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns.

As was reported, cotton sowing continues in an organized manner. Measures are taken to ensure that agricultural machinery and equipment are operated at full capacity. In order to strengthen food abundance, wheat fields are treated in compliance with agro-technical standards pursuant to the performance targets.

Moreover, the planting of vegetable, watermelon and melon crops is carried out in the velayat, as well as vegetative irrigation of areas under potatoes and onions.

Measures are taken as part of preparation for the cocoon production season to provide farmers with silkworm eggs and conclude agreements with them.

The report also covered the construction progress of social and industrial facilities in the velayat ongoing under the National Rural Program, scheduled for opening this year.

Having heard the report, and highlighting the importance of high-quality and organized conduct of seasonal agricultural campaigns these days, Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the khyakim to ensure the coordinated activities of all institutions involved in sowing cotton and treating wheat fields in accordance with agro-technical standards.

Furthermore, the President of Turkmenistan instructed the khyakim to keep under strict control the timely and high-quality completion of construction work at various facilities to be commissioned this year as part of the Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022-2028 and the National Rural Program.

The working meeting via a digital system was continued with the report from Dashoguz Velayat Khyakim S. Soltanmyradov on the pace of seasonal agricultural campaigns.

As was reported, application of mineral fertilizers and vegetative irrigation are carried out in an organized manner and in accordance with agro-technical standards in order to grow a bountiful wheat harvest in 2024.

To complete sowing cotton within the established agro-technical time frame, the required amount of high-quality seeds adapted to the soil and climatic conditions of the region has been prepared, and the land plowing and preliminary watering are in progress.

Treatment of fields sown to potatoes and onions and the planting of other vegetable, watermelon and melon crops are also underway.

In order to develop sericulture and increase the cocoon production, preparatory work is currently carried out, including concluding contracts with silkworm breeders.

The report included information on the construction progress of facilities to be commissioned in the velayat this year under the National Rural Program.

Summing up the report, Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of carrying out current agricultural work in compliance with agro-technical standards, instructing the khyakim to take the necessary measures for timely and organized completion of cotton sowing, and proper treatment of wheat fields.

The President of Turkmenistan also ordered to keep under constant control the quality and timing of construction of social and industrial facilities in the velayat ongoing as part of the Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country in 2022-2028, scheduled for commissioning the current year.

Then Lebap Velayat Khyakim Sh. Amangeldiev reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns.

In order to increase the production of potatoes and other vegetable, watermelon and melon crops in the country for provide them to the population, the planting of these crops continues in the agricultural areas of the regions.

Moreover, in view of the upcoming cocoon production season, work is in progress to prepare silkworm eggs and conclude contracts between velayat silk producing organizations and silkworm breeders.

Having heard the report, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the importance of the agricultural sector in the national economy and specified the need to carry out seasonal agricultural work at a high level. In this regard, the head of state instructed the deputy prime minister to keep under strict control the organized and timely sowing of cotton and proper care for wheat.

Addressing the working meeting participants, the President of the country emphasized that one of the basic conditions for gathering bountiful harvests in the future is conducting current agricultural campaigns in accordance with agro-technical standards, instructing to ensure proper care for crops, as well as organized preparation for the silkworm cocoon production season.

During the working meeting, the participants cordially congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the publication of his book “Änew –müňýyllyklardan gözbaş alýan medeniýet”, as well as on the unanimous adoption on the initiative of Turkmenistan of the Resolution “2025 - International Year of Peace and Trust” at the 63rd plenary meeting of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, and wished Arkadag Hero Serdar and the Hero Arkadag sound health, long years of life and success in their responsible activities.
