A conference entitled “The Role of Turkmen Women in International Cooperation and the Promotion of National Values in the World” was held in Turkmenistan.
The forum was jointly organized by the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the Secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan and the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi.
The ceremonial event was held in honor of the proclaimed motto of 2025 in Turkmenistan — "International Year of Peace and Trust", as well as the adoption on March 21, 2024 by the UN General Assembly of the Resolution declaring 2025 "International Year of Peace and Trust", initiated by Turkmenistan and supported by 86 states.
Representatives of the UNESCO departments and clubs operating in the country, secondary schools that are part of the UNESCO Associated Schools network, as well as students of higher and secondary vocational educational institutions of Turkmenistan took part in the conference online.
The conference began with a literary and musical composition based on the poem “Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Peace and Trust” by the National Leader of turkmen people, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the conference, reports were heard that highlighted the high significance, role, goals and objectives of the International Year of Peace and Trust. The speakers spoke about the centuries-old national traditions, history, values, principles of peace-loving of turkmen people, widely reflected in the literary works of the Hero Arkadag and Arkadagly Hero Serdar.
Students from universities and secondary vocational schools of the country, who participated as listeners, particularly emphasized that the reports presented at the conference best reflected the true value and sanctity of the Motherland, which they carefully carry in their hearts.
The participants of the conference expressed deep gratitude and appreciation to the Hero Arkadag and the President of Turkmenistan for tireless efforts in strengthening peace and international cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the song “Ýaşasyn parahat durmuş!” was solemnly performed in the official languages of the UN, based on the poems of the Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, by the students of the Turkmen National Institute of World Languages named after Dovletmammet Azadi.
