Mission Entirely Possible

Our country’s famous artists have undertaken a mission to get the staff of the U.S. Embassy acquainted with the Turkmen nation’s history, culture and everyday life through their paintings. They take turns in showing their creations in makeshift exhibition spaces: the walls of some offices and halls at the Embassy.

Magical Violins of Dessan Ensemble

The Dessan Violin Ensemble at M. Garlyev Specialized School of Arts in Dashoguz Velayat has prepared a new concert program. It features a number of Turkmen and foreign composers. The members of the Ensemble masterfully perform works by Turkmen composers Nury Khalmamedov and Chary Nurymov; celebrated Italian violinist Antonio Vivaldi, who left a decisive mark on the form of the concerto and the style of instrumental music; famous German pianist Carl Bohm, who wrote many compositions, and others. The recorded program will be shown to a big audience on one of the national channels.

Paintings by Kossek

Just a quick glance at paintings by our fellow countryman, Mary-based artist Kosekmurad Nurmuradov, could give people in now cold and snow-covered Moscow a great burst of energy. This idea was suggested by Mikhail Pereplesnin, a journalist and fine art expert, who had authored an article about the Turkmen artist that appeared in the Russian magazine “Forum Plus” in January. Works by the Merited Art Worker of Turkmenistan, have long been familiar to Moscow art enthusiasts.

Meeting with Distinguished Artists

It was a special and memorable day for the Museum of Fine Arts when it hosted a meeting between students of Byashim Nurali Children’s Art School and eminent Turkmen artists.  Exactly 16 years earlier, students and creative professionals had participated in the opening ceremony of the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan boasting its distinctive interior design and unique collection. Therefore the event for the young artists and the luminaries was seen as symbolic.

Online Masterclass for Violinists

The Maya Kulieva Turkmen National Conservatory’s Big Hall has played host to a masterclass for students of the Department of String Instruments.  Associate Professor Ruben Smbatyan and Professor Gagik Smbatyan at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan, the Department of String Instruments, who lead the masterclass online, were attentively watching six violinists perform.
